Starting Clomid in 4 days, need advice.?

We are TTC#3 and my doctor is starting me on clomid, I'm suppose to take it on days 5-9 of my cycle, then have 2 days after the last pill and every other day for a week. Does this sound like the usual protocol? I've never taken it before and want to make sure I don't miss ovulation. I just bought a 50 pk of OPT and we have Conceive Plus lube to help in case the clomid makes my cm hostile. What day does ovulation usually occur with clomid? I'm starting at 50mg so we're hoping that will be enough.
