Sociological interview...?

You should ask very open ended questions that will inspire him to talk. The goal of an ethnographic interview is not to get answers to specific questions so much as to make people feel comfortable enough to share their experiences with you. It also depends on your relationship with your father and what you are comfortable asking him. I would want to know how he felt about the colonized black people and the revolutionary movement. But a safer question to start might be: What were the major differences between my childhood and yours? Good luck.
