My pool pump is leaking from the tank and there is no suction, can i fix this?

I just bought a home and it came with a pool. I am trying to get everything set up but i keep running into problems. Right now there is water leaking from one of the hoses and from the first little filter (it has a clear lid). Also there is no suction and it makes a lot of noise. Does anyone know what im talking about?
