If you were offered the chance to be one of the first to colonize mars would you go?

If it meant you could never return? That is one option being looked at in a mission to mars, as if you drop the requirement to bring the humans back it makes the engineering/cost much easier to live with...so to speak. When I first heard of that option I was kind of appalled, but the more I thought about it, it made a lot of sense.
